Yes! You’re Proof Americans are Eating More Pecans
Did you know you are part of the growing number of adult snackers who are eating more pecans? Whether it’s because you want a nutritional snack that’s sustainably produced, you’re adding more plant-based foods to your diet, or you just want a snack that tastes great, you’re eating more pecans than ever.
We’re proof of it.
You’re the reason we exist—to pursue our mission of introducing people to savory roasted pecans and all the many ways they can enjoy this native American tree nut. Simply put, everyone should experience pecans as a great-tasting snack.
I’m proud to say that in 2023 we expanded to two more states and grew our presence in the Carolinas, and our online presence. We increased sales. We discovered the best types of events for us. All of that made it a great year.
Together, this past year we:
- Placed our roasted pecans in 26 retail stores
- Expanded to 4 states
- Sold 341 pounds of pecans
- Took part in 16 festivals and events
- Gave away 52 pounds of pecans for tastings
How awesome is that?
A big cheer goes to my team, and especially to our webmaster, who works tirelessly to make this business prosper. I appreciate my small band of advisors who counsel, prod, reassure, and encourage, as needed.
I am so thankful for the Mito Station start-up community. The passion this community has for mutual support is helping all of us to grow. With growth, we provide for our families and fuel the economy.
Most of all, credit for our success goes to you, our amazing customers – your support is the energy that keeps us, and me, going every day. For that, I give you a heartfelt thank you.
Looking Ahead to This Year
For many years now I’ve taken time in the week between the holidays to reflect on business growth, goals, milestones, and roadblocks. After the rush of increased seasonal shopping and the crazy-making need to get orders delivered on time, I find reflection to be helpful. I see it as letting my head breathe in some fresh oxygen to unkink the brain knots that come from too much work, too little time, and insufficient sleep.
You’re familiar with those orange road signs that proclaim: “End Construction.” Upon seeing one, a friend lamented slyly, “The protest signs don’t seem to be working.”
It’s true. Much like roads, there’s always something that needs repair or improvement, in this as in any business, no matter its size or past accomplishments. That time of reflection inevitably leads to changes, and 2024 will be no different. I’ll talk about those changes in future posts—including those things that you’re most interested in like new flavors and more events.
How Was Your 2023?
If you haven’t already, you can still do a bit of reflecting on the past year and set a few new intentions for 2024. You might find this article to be a helpful guide.
If 2023 was a year you’d rather forget, I sincerely hope this new year is one to remember. Perhaps it will help you to keep in mind Henry Ford’s observation:
“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it ….”
I want to close by asking you for your continued support. If you can recommend a retailer who should carry our pecans, introduce me to a potential partner, or have a particular skill that might help us grow, please get in touch with me here, or connect with me on Linked-In.
Here’s to more growth, more inspiration, and more partnerships in the coming year. Thank you for being part of our Wutta Nut! Pecans family. Cheers to a fantastic 2024.
