We’re Kickin’ It seasoned pecans bring extra kick and deeper flavor to these traditionally seasoned superfood pecan tacos. For added crunch, substitute red or green cabbage for your usual lettuce or mixed salad greens. Serve with corn or flour tortillas and remember to add all your usual favorites such as chopped tomatoes, diced green onion, fresh cilantro, sliced jalapeños, lime wedges, guacamole, sour cream, and your favorite cheese such as cojita, mild feta, cheddar or Monterey Jack.

Superfood Pecan Tacos

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Wutta Nut! We're Kickin' It chopped pecan halves
  • 1 teaspoon pecan or extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • teaspoon cayenne

Instructions
 

  • Combine all spices, mix well, then toast in a dry pan over medium heat. When spices have darkened slightly and are fragrant, add oil and onion and stir till onion is coated in spices. Be careful to not let the oil fry the spices or onion. Cook about 4 minutes, until onion is translucent.
  • Add pecans to warm.
  • Transfer mixture to food processor and pulse until consistency of ground beef, about 8 to 10 pulses.
  • Serve immediately.
