Corporate Gifts with a Vital Kick: Boosting Mental and Physical Health

We give a lot of corporate gifts. They aren’t gift-wrapped. We give the intangible and vital gifts of physical and mental health. You can give these gifts also with us and compound your impact while contributing to your mental health.

Yes, we’re all familiar with the “warm glow” of intrinsic delight we experience in doing something for someone else. And we’ve taken this to the extreme with our Reaper Challenge. These competitive eating contests will warm a lot more than your heart.

We’ve organized three fundraising events from now through mid-November for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg chapter of the North Carolina Firefighters’ Burned Children Fund (FFBCF). Each of these events is hosted by one of Charlotte’s finest and best-known craft breweries:  Resident Culture-Southend, Triple C Brewing, and The Wooden Robot. We’re proud to partner with them and appreciate their support.

We’re Asking for Your Support

You can partner with us in these events in three ways. You can take part in the competitions, of course. Event registration is required and only takes a few minutes. Here’s the registration page.

If you have some wiggle room in your budget and eating superhot chili peppers isn’t for you, then simply make a financial donation. Research shows that donating money does more to improve your mental wellness than buying a gift for yourself. Your modest donation of $30 or more makes a powerful impact on a burned child. Each year, our local chapter of the Firefighters’ Burned Children Fund raises and donates more than $30,000 to send burned children to summer camps and for fire prevention and awareness.

You can also come and cheer the competitors as they attempt to eat a handful of our new fiery Reaper and Weep pecans in one minute.

Saturday, we will hold the first of the three Reaper Challenge charity fundraisers. I hope you can swing by for the 11 a.m. contest at Resident Culture-Southend, cheer for your favorite contestant, and drop some folding money into the donation box. You’ll have a great time.

Corporate Gifts for Mental Health, Too

We’re taking part in two events that coincidently are both on October 2.

One is a golf tournament and silent auction at Tega Cay Golf Club. This fundraiser is sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to build awareness of mental health and suicide prevention. Chances are you’ve lost someone to suicide when help for their mental illness could have given them a longer and happier life. We’ve donated 150 snack packs for participants to enjoy while they’re taking part in this event.

The other event on October 2 is the Albemarle Corporation Employee Health Fair. There, we’ll be giving the gift of physical health by sharing information about pecan nutrition and giving away pecan snacks.

Earlier this year, we donated snack packs to the Save-a-Nut organization for participants in their disc golf tournament. Save-a-Nut provides mental health support to those experiencing testicular cancer and raises funds for this important cancer research.

Like you, we feel it’s important to support the community outside our doors. You can magnify your community support through your financial contributions and by taking part in these upcoming Reaper Challenge events.

We hope to see you soon!
